Six Five 18
Up early as a repeat of yesterday is unfolding contrary to seasonal pattern but most agreeable AND comfortable. IOW, a welcome and acceptable change.
It continued dark after official ‘dawn’ and I THOUGHT I saw a flash but dismissed it. Until a little later and the rumble of thunder told me I was NOT having a reaction to the meds and we were in for another ‘rain day’ of retooling the plan.
Yesterday I was able to get the scheduled training ride in between showers and just barely. Today is an ’off’ d ay so the rain will enable full art work which is PERFECT for painting and I have works to paint so all is GRANDE.
The ride certainly in question early on and cancelled as alternate plans were initiated. Regimen called for a 40+ ride (25 miles) and Easy but THAT was quickly set aside when I was able to saddle up between showers in the late afternoon. I must note that the pace was quicker and ‘pushed’ v easy & relaxed. I finished 40K in 1:37 where I was estimating 2 hours.
Next scheduled training ride is tomorrow 15M Hard. This should be accomplished in about an hours time perhaps a bit longer.
But getting back to yesterday, it did sprinkle for a period during the ride and I did consider packing it in. I pressed on and it stopped to 2-for-2 on the training rides so far.
I was going to do an entry yesterday about Monday morning trip to CVS Pharma. The only worker in the store at opening to help me was low-cut Connie. The story after reconsideration was withdrawn because she had a handicap and her appearance struck me as comical but it just wasn’t the right thing to do.
She had a severely hunched back causing her to use a shopping cart for support and to lean forward and with the plunging low-cut top, well, let’s leave it at the cleavage presentation was a distraction.
I did not want to get busted for THAT again. Once in a lifetime is sufficient.
That’s it.
I was going to dive into depth with dinner on Sunday, a superb Cornish game hen, cucumber salad and pan-roasted sweet potato but not feeling it at the moment and wanting to get to other work.
Also, an update on the insect bite clinical field trials was planned. I can report that all of this rounds bites have subsided, treatment is working and the condition has lessening. Full report forthcoming.
We need the rain.
