Another odd day but an entry follows. Monday, yesterday, recall was a long-ride training day and I am reluctantly mentioning it was not successful and a minor set-back. But in life it happens.
The entire day was nearly, completely totally lost but I saved some of it which I guess is a testament to my resiliency & conditioning.
SO WHAT HAPPENED ?
I really don't want to talk about it but OK.
I got to about 70 k (out of 104) and the wind picked up which isn’t a show stopper but it was constant and picking increasing. Also much warmer (as in later in the day) as FB had called as I was about to lift off delaying the start NOT somewhat but SIGNIFICANTLY.
Not an excuse however it did factor in.
Starting weight was 176 ended 169 so fluids needed replenishing.
But enough of that.
Lot’s of complaints from the image posted with last report. Hot babe licking an ice cream cone APPARENTLY OFFENDED a few out there in Never-Never-mind land. As a therapist once told me long ago now and this is a TRUE story … ‘get over it.’ And I did.
Last night after the electricity was free I made peach conserve tweaking the recipe slightly. I do believe I have enough peaches left for another batch tonight. It turned out SO GOOD with the first sample. This batch will have almonds slivers instead of coconut. And the dried cranberries & coconut flavored rum both stay.
So part of today’s activities is clean up.
Other activities include watering outdoor plants & garden. The unrelenting heat is evaporating all available moisture in any exposed unmulched soil.
Besides cleaning up the casa, art work and strategic planning continues at a much higher rate.
WHY ?
There you go going therapist mode on me with their favorite question.
I don’t know if I am repeating this news but the September show in Houston (Woodlands) was cancelled. So I need to retool that or better stated WITHOUT that and go forward.
I can still do art work to build inventory which is probably the most productive thing to do but NONE of it gets done driving this blasted machine.
And I see that I/we are approaching entry #500 very soon. Cause to celebrate for sure.
The good thing is I will be here all day and when that happens and the temperature rises gradually and by the hour it just seems easier to acclimate. Which is what it is ALL about peeps.
So wherever you are remember the word for today is ‘acclimate’ and phraseology is ‘get over it.’
Not a bad entry for a shortie if I must say so … and an odd day.
Just proves here or anywhere that ANYTHING can happen.
OH BILL, DON’T STOPKEEP GOING .
That’s what she said.
I say NIX. Nyet.
