Today’s image should indicate and tell you it is a GREAT DAY to be a Red Sox Fan Fans. After CLOBBERING and EMBARRASSING the spankees 16-1 Monday night, the Sox finished them off Tuesday in a nail-biter until the very end. But as one on-line commenter called it, winning by one run is not different than winning by 15. Good guys get the ‘W’ and move on. They NY Yankees sing ‘Wait til next year’ AND ‘ny,ny.’
I posted a comment on ny99 as to this players performance NOT chasing down a BoSox HR to RF and got four (4) thumbies down and one (1) up last I checked which in my book is/was Grande.
Yes it was a great day to be a Sox fan.
I was at local Office Depot (OD) and waiting for a print job to be laminated so I took a stroll down to the Home Depot in that plaza shopping center (no relation) to buy an item. The walk was most pleasant as I was wearing my Big Red B cap, the sun was shining, and part of the way was in shade and part of the sidewalk was in the sun.
Not unusual except for the fact that walking in the shade was uncomfortably cooler, marginal chilly while in the sunshine one enjoyed about 21.
Anyway, it is drawing late and I can’t linger on a weather report.
On the way back to OD, this young lady comes out of 5Below walking briskly. First pass is kind of cute and I am in the sunshine, walking leisurely and by and large moving more slowly but a little warning light in my brain goes off ‘collision imminent’.
I get closer and nearly come to a complete stop to let her pass and smile. Well, she smiles back and
I see very clearly now that she is drop-dead gorgeous and that smile. Bare wires touched and I was lost stumbling, stammering and stuttering trying to decide what to do … Lord’s prayer or Hail Mary.
This brief mental event passes and walking away she turns, looks back over her shoulder like Rita Hayward and blasts me with an encore of her killer smile nearly blinding me with the pearly whites and while smiling says ‘Go Sox’.
BABY !!
True story. The End.
So I manage to avoid (barely) the next concrete pillar on my journey back from HD to OD wondering why can’t there be more pleasant exchanges in the street like that ?
Time is running out and I must find my Red Sox cap again and make ready for today’s second adventure to the GREAT State Fair of Texas.
Time is tight as I must get down there early so I can get BACK early for a program at APL at 7:30. An author is giving a talk of keen interest I will fill you in on next report but for now all I can say is I DO NOT want to miss this program.
This is a very stressful time as FB, S2 and the crew (aka nextGEN uno & dos, aka GD1 & GS1 aka the grandies) will arrive on Nanton Wheelways flight IV from Houston, Gate I, Friday, and that’s TOMORROW.
Must get the casa ship-shape and that includes swabbing ALL decks. PLUS the meal plans. Restock the bars. IOW, make the castle R-E-A-D-Y. Need I say more ?
If not up to her specs, I go to a 'home'.
Can YOU sense the STRESS ?
Toots til next time.
Live LARGE por favor.
