VII XI Junius
Oh Thank Heaven Caesar guess what day it is and I simply cannot let it slip by unmentioned. Short entry on the way for one emergency dealt with and chores remain on the docket.
EMERGENCY? BEGIN THERE POR FAVOR AND ELIMINATE THE SUSPENSE AND TENSION …
Very well, you are insisting.
As I was stumbling around shortly after waking, I spied thru the back door towards the deck a little rabbit or as the ryan-dash-whatever referred to them as ‘bunnies’. She ‘LOVED’ them !! (Emphasis hers)
I grew up in a different time and bunnies were something else. But I digress.
Here and now the little bastards are varmints and probably nibbling away in my container jardins. I mentioned to my Mom this and that I was going to start harvesting them for the test kitchen. The thought of a marinated barbecued young hopper sound good to me.
Mom’s advice? ‘Nevermind. They’re dirty and you’ll get sick.’
Walt at one time earlier had sent youtube links ‘how to prepare’ and one ‘how to butcher AND slaughter’ said creatures which I could have watch many more times. No jollies or anything just the moment when the rabbit KNEW something was up his little feet would just beat the air FRANTICALLY.
Well I thought is was funny.
Anyway, as I was chasing and making sure the little in-law was off the property I see standing water in the form of a puddle somewhere where one should not be.
I put on my sleuth hat and quickly discovered it was coming from off the property so I immediately applied logic and reason. You remember those? They are filed deeply, almost IRRETRIEVABLY today under ‘common sense.’ I however have them in spades. Sorry ... ABUNDANCE thereof.
I made the first call to the City of McKinney water & utilities to report a possible leak. The ‘first responder’ redirected my call and very quickly two younger techs or an engineer team rang the bell which I answered.
Pointing out the problem and showing everything I had uncovered and discovered, he axed me a few questions which of course I answered.
Truncating the long story, two houses up the new neighbor was filling his pool and ‘forgot’ to turn it off.
End of story.
No damage, no repairs needed.
To your writer and correspondent that’s a pretty good day.
