Quite a bit to go over today and pressed for time so here goes. Where are we ? The British Open wraps up today, it is a Sunday, very early and we shall touch on that also various and sundry ‘updates.’

Did you ever wake up early, fail to return to sleep and not know why? I know I have (Andy Rooney).

So I got up while it was cool thinking I DID have a Plan. I just needed to awake FULLY before ‘execute’ could commence.

Last night I retired early to get up early doing some laundry and get a full days work in. Then I realized The Open was underway 6-7 hours ahead and I hadn’t gotten to watch any of it so I actually found LIVE COVERAGE on the phone. Now THAT is truly amazing AND impressive.

Is it great, not quite. The stream or signal buffers occasionally and there are otherwise periods of silence which is partly a function of the announcers which is actually most welcome after the mindless drivel of American commentators and I am thinking and referring specifically to the colorless Johnny Miller.

Yesterdays training ride went well. The 105k completed between 4-5 hours. Starting early there were a lot of other riders mostly leisurely and as the morning wore on I noticed fewer and fewer. There were two (2) planned stops which I should explain.

I filled the hydramax ‘camelback’ back-pack canteen and 500 meters from the casa launch realized that it wasn’t going to work as planned. I could tell circulation due to the added weight was going to reek havoc at the shoulders, arms would go numb so that was one stop.

Logic applied was I would not be needing to drink that water AT LEAST until the water bottle was empty and that usually goes 2-3 hours. So I stopped and hid the pack in a tree in the shade for a stop later when the water bottle was empty and I needed the water.

The second stop of eight (8) minutes was for a short rest, water and refill at about 3.5 to 4 hours worked well and I was able to finish strong from that point. So a total of two (2) stops, ten (10) minutes so that was a very good exercise and data point.

The rest of the day however I was pretty much spent and with the heat and humidity did little else but lounge in the pool skipping the art work and since I finished the latest read the night before, I tidied up (IOW LIGHTLY cleaned) and planned for the next FULL OFF day tomorrow which is now today.

So doing some laundry with the free electricity, running the ac, watching the golf or rather only listening and getting prepared to execute the routine Sunday Plans and get ready for the upcoming trip and travel.

The excitement of traveling wears thin when balanced against the ‘make readies’ and high anxieties of both preparation(s) and executing the plans.

Oh, on Friday I was notified that I was not selected for the Frisco park project. This is OK as it leaves me open for other opportunities that might come along.

LESSON LEARNED: It is all in your outlook. Trust that these things all and ALWAYS happen for a reason and like surfing, just ride it out. Remain upright and balanced and one should be OK.

DISS-MISSED.
