18 August. A blistering and brutal sunny Sunday afternoon
There was no room for inserting ‘summer’ but that goes without saying. I am between both dips in the cement pond for cooling purposes and tasking. Rangers radio coverage against the Twins and excuse me as it is a barn-burner. Very close now and back and forth. Think about it. The players are out there WORKING in this heat.
BUT IT’S A GOOD HEAT.
And you either have not been out in it OR out in the heat far too long. Enjoy the ac while you can.
HOW WAS THE LAST GD RIDE?
First, you make it sound like profanity. On the Program it is a GDR and that is a ‘Graduated Distance Ride.’ We have been thru this. It was 129k (80m) and taking into account all the negative factors I have convinced myself it was a good ride.
Before you can interrupt, let me explain por favor.
I had four (4) stops for 27 minutes all for water. The shortest was two (2) minutes the longest 16 minutes and included a short siesta in the shade. On a picnic table. I set the timer for 30 minutes but
I dozed off and awoke ready, remounted and resumed the ride.
The time was a bit over 5.5 hours which was as calculated OR estimated and again there were safety slows and stops that should NOT factor in NEXT SATURDAY. Can I get an AMEN ?
Towards the end I felt like I had sat on a land mine. And it went off sending the shrapnel throughout that region. After getting home, I THINK I finally felt my age. Slow, sore and confused. No question dehydrated as I started 178.8 and even after taking on over half-gallon of water & fluids, I registered 170.6 immediately after shedding the workout cloths which were wet thru and thru of course.
One (1) more ride on Monday and then the program calls for REST until the big ride on Saturday.
This writing exercise here now is a tune-up mentally and stubbornly fighting Procrastination station. I have some art projects staged and here within arm’s length begging for work. Tiny operations near the end of each project prior to painting which is good with shows coming up.
Also, I have some writing tasking that in the planning session this morning were perfect for this time of the day. Just sit quietly between dips and hammer out letters one of complaint to TXU, another complaint to the FCC on the recurring voice messages being left that I cannot block and t-mobile can’t seem to stop either.
I must try to submit an ‘artists profile’ for the studio tour here in November. Running out of enthusiasm with that whole thing. I have done a full page and paragraph profile that needs to be ‘resubmitted’ for a professional writer to spiff up. In the midst of the digital revolution and the broad exposure, ‘they’ claim this latest scheme ‘can’t miss’.
I am thinking that the fun is bleeding out of this little adventure and thi might be my last roundup but hold off spreading that gossip quite yet.
Time for a redip …
Here are a few insane links yanked since last time with short editorial comments.

OK. So crocs have made it north to Ohio. There still cold blooded so only a threat in the summer. NP.
This is sad but true apparently. They need to include in the rules ‘to swallow’. Pity the kids in school explaining parental demise.
Whatever.
Now this one is good. I plan on downloading and printing this one for future reference.
Another ‘People’ magazine favorites we wish would simply vanish as in ‘who cares’? ARod & Jlo …
‘who cares’ what they are doing … EVER. Sing Far, Far Away then go there.
God Bless America.
PS: Looking at a couple of days off here Fans. Hold the alarms and anxiety.
But when we come back, look for Bill’s Top Five (5) hydration methods AND how to get and stay really cool when you weren’t born that way.
And a new project, Bill Meets Thelma and Louise.
Surf’s UP.
