XX dos equis plus uno (I)
Slightly missed the opportunity of yesterday but ABSOLUTELY no point crying over yesterdays spilled cerveza. Besides, I was way, WAY too busy to stop and apply myself to his leaking boat and lost business adventure when I have money making opportunities all over the map.
SURE. WHY DON’T YOU TAKE THE ‘OPPORTUNITY’ AND ENLIGHTEN US A WEE BIT. POR FAVOR.
Well Sweetie, since you axed so nicely and sincerely AND your Spanish language training and manners are progressing so nicely, I shall comply with your request.
I had a major victory on Tuesday winning a running battle with TXU and my electricity ‘plan.’
OH NO !!
YOU axed.
I received an outrageous bill for the last billing period so I rang up customer service. Right as rain I reached ‘David’ who I think was really Diego in Nicaragua front-line customer service agent. After 40-some minutes, nearing that point of Exasperation Station where one wants to gnaw thru BOTH wrists to exit this world bleeding out, I requested speaking to a supervisor or manager about this problem.
Damarius was in Guatemala so there was no need asking her if she was collocated with David.
After another back-and-forth session hearing from her how I was a ‘loyal’ customer for ‘five (5)’ years, she was willing to offer me a reduction in the current bill of $50.
I didn’t mention to her that that amount was insulting nor that it failed to cover my TIME on the phone with two (2) inepts.
I DID say I didn’t think that was enough and she countered with $100. Immediately. But that was the ‘absolute best’ she could do.
Looking to disengage and resume my life as quickly as possible, we agreed to a telecom the next morning at 7:00. I requested a number to speak with an American as they were not understanding my problem. She wrinkled at this without ‘thinking it over’ and continued to my angst the conversation still trying to solve the problem, apologizing profusely but getting nowhere slowly.
The next morning she called at the appointed hour, about ten (10) minutes late but I overlooked that.
A much shorter conversation this time, she had only an email for ‘corporate’ and no direct poc or phone number. However she could and would have someone call me to discuss the matter further and I gave he very specific times for that day and the next that I would be available.
Well I received a call back from TXU officer SharonI (one) and her English was perfect. We engaged immediately with the problem statement(s) and rather quickly she came up with an acceptable solution.
‘How would a $200 credit and forget the back-dating of the plan or making the new plan retro-active AND reinstating the old plan for 36 months.
ARE WE ALMOST THERE?
You axed for it but affirmative.
This brought my bill due for the period from $226 down to $26 and some change. This is about the range my bills were running.
Now delighted and marginally giddy, we exchanged pleasantries and I decided to see if I could make her laugh so I asked her if she was married.
WHAT ?? YOU DIDN'T !!
Yes Mom I did.
She had informed me during the conversation she was 55 and she thought my inquiry was at least slightly humorous OR she gave a great front of a fake laugh.
I told her I was going to celebrate, I was glad that we came to a solution and I was going to remain a loyal customer of TXU. She agreed and said SEVEN (7) years. I had gained two more years or math programs in Latin American are below 'poor.'
The free nights and solar days just absolutely works for me.
THEN she gave me two websites to further investigate home personal solar options and alternatives.
One, aka I, could NOT have DREAMED of a better outcome.
Let this be a lesson class ... SOMETIMES you WIN.
