10 Two 2019

FIRST ENTRY: Some thrilling discoveries and a confusing set of circumstances to ponder as the new month begins and the year winds down. So where to start?

I started this entry early this morning and ran out of time and against a hard stop. This little fact works out well for YOUR benefit as some hot, fresh and new material surfaced but the problem remains where to begin.

How about a recap of current events, then the Eureka moments and time permitting the confusion?

WHATEVER.

Kind of you approving the agenda.

Yesterday began with a goal and a mission. October is vehicle registration month so I took Silver in for the annual state inspection which one MUST HAVE before registration can be completed or as I call it otherwise organized crime. The ‘state’, aka government in general OR Big Brother, knows a golden revenue stream and exploits it at every opportunity AND makes it as complicated, difficult and stressful to stifle and crush the individual spirit. I often refer to this as an example of organized crime.

So I check on-line for when the ‘state-approved’ inspection station nearby and it IS opened and I arrived shortly after 8:00. 8:16 to be exact. Which was perfect. The shop personnel were present, rousting slowly but they outnumbered the line aka customers seven (7) to one (1) which was me. I have plenty of attention like three (3) at once.

Abbreviating, first attempt at inspection failed. I had just settled in the waiting area/room and was finishing one short task on this machine when ‘Moustafa’ enters with the bad news.

‘I could not pass you inspection. Failed. Bad gas cap’. Moustafa (M)

M: ‘We can replace for you.’ (from an I want to slit your throat smile)

W:’How much?’

M:$20

(W: US?)

W:’OK. I’ll be back.’

So I take a chance and run up to O, O, O, O’Reilly’s (Otto parts NOT the tv host) and they are open.

A nice white lad promptly offers assistance with a smile and after a brief discussion and review of available products and especially prices I make a decision.

I remove the old cap which appears to be perfectly fine to me and go to make the new install and the first plastic pin that secures the tether to the frame doesn’t fit. No IMMEDIATE problem as there are four (4) such plastic ‘pins’ of different sizes in the small plastic bag so I try the others and absolutely no luck as none of them fit.

I take the entire mess back into the store and I am in luck as he remembers me.

W: ‘None of these pins fit.’

Before he can think of a recovery plan, I do.

W: ‘Hold that thought.’

When I removed the old cap, I just pulled off or out the old pin so I tried that first and Kevin Lowe and behold, IT WORKED (!). Bill 1, ROW 0.

Delighted with self, I go back in and tell Kevin it works but don’t toss the old one yet as I was going back for to complete the inspection.

After a longer than expected wait back at the station, it passed. As expected. I settled up and left but not before anxiety, suspicion and tension came to the surface. What I COULD have done and maybe SHOULD have done next was gone back to O’Reilly’s and rereplaced the old cap and exchanged the new one.

ALWAYS BRILLIANT AND CLEVER. WHITE TRASH RED-NECK.

The oil sensor was registering 11% and I didn’t like the way Moustafa was smiling so I decided that I was in an automotive mood so I rang up Ron’s Automotive for an otherwise scheduled oil change.

Collette answered and the right away the flirting starts and she can work me in NOW.

Pulling up I notice the American flag flying out front and upon closer review it is noticeably tattered and when Ron himself walks in while I am dealing with Collette I mention the flags condition to The Man Ron. He is aware which opens a four (4)-way discussion Ron wrapping it up with his plan to replace the flag.

I get home and immediately begin cleaning up as I had a phone call from a local acquaintance that were in the neighborhood and wished to see the gallery. As potential customers and former clients, even Patrons, I said of course.

They said 4:00 and I was ALMOST done by then but not quite so I figured they weren’t going to show up so I had a beer and before I knew it I was taking a nap.

Well, the phone wakes me and I was asked how 5:00 sounded. There was a wreck but they were now getting close.

I resumed the broom work and curtailed that when they arrived.

It had been a while and they were liking what they saw and I THINK they were shopping so maybe a sale(s) are around the corner even tho they did not purchase anything OR put a piece on layaway.

MOVE ALONG POR FAVOR …

The discovery was trying something different just for the H of it.

I went to check financials and instead of using the wireless wi-fi and phone for the ‘hotspot’ I decided to use a short USB cable to connect the phone to a laptop port.

Well it worked!! The connection was rocket fast, reliable and not once timed out during the log in to the banks AND posting the blog to the website. This is both remarkable and note worthy.

Now this could be a fluke and I will re-run the test again however NOT timing out on the website

doing work or maintenance was a HUGE saving of time and emotional currents.

So much so that I returned the modem from Spectrum. I ordered it, it arrived and sat on a chair and when I went to open the box to get out the manual to read entirely and first I read a sealing tag on the box and it contained a warning or disclaimer which I also read and did NOT like. I did NOT open the box AND I had already received a bill for September for ‘service’ which I never used.

Spectrum was very good about the return and I told them I just didn’t have the time and when I was ready I would be back. Probably. KNOT.

I watched a couple of episodes of Father Brown, read and bed.

Another discovery was observed with the high-octane antioxidant estate blended tea. I find myself sleeping better AND the latest round of chigger bites cleared up noticeably and remarkably overnight

Further investigations will continue in this Jekyll and Hyde experiment.

I have gotten down the procedure to make 12 (twelve) cups of the estate blended after 8:00 pm and let it cool coming to room temp over night. It is clear red and stunning t look at and with a blast of liquid stevia and juice + the half lime over ice. REALLY nive.

Today I learned it is Texas Defiance day. October 2 is important in Texas history and I think 10/2 will become a National and Federally observed Holiday.

Tomorrow is the Great State fair AND Stars home opener with S1. A Full day for sure.

Things are going to be hot, heavy and crowded here so do not expect an update until 3-4 days. And it should be a good one.

That’s about it.

HEY, WHAT ABOUT THE CONFUSION YOU MENTIONED UP FRONT?

Sorry. Not today. Not this time around.

It’s getting near dawn … (Cream)

Besides, there’s plenty of time for confusion … LATER.
