Ten Five 2019
Running a little behind but that’s OK. Saturday and I am proclaiming it a ‘lazy’ day. Life has been a series of sprints and marathons of late and I am ready for a slight change of pace.
WHAT ? HOW AND FOR HEAVEN SAKES WHY??
If that bothers you and apparently it does then TRY TO THINK of it this way.
I have been running the bases circling them, touching them all and having the proverbial blast. A mental health day is in order can you understand THAT?
Probably and perhaps obviously NOT.
Tomorrow is the climax with the retrieval operation of Thelma & Louise which will involve rising early, driving about four (4) hours in a truck to pick up the girls and merchandise not sold and bring everything back alive to McK. So four (4) hours back. Total eight (8) hours drive or windshield time so wearing and stressful. Hopefully Sunday traffic won’t be that bad.
That sad, this morning going to pick up the vehicle for overnight parking at the cloud and early departure under the cloak of darkness.
Yesterday was the Saint Gabriel's KofC scramble at Ridgeview Ranch. I probably could have prepared better or longer but now having lived thru it and survived, just as well. The group was fun but admittedly we were not competitive which is fine because it was a fund raiser for the Church and teams that win such things rally make one raise BOTH eyebrows AND wonder if some pencil whipping isn’t going on or all four (4) of the players have erasers on their respective pencils.
I played reasonably well hitting some good shots, a few great ones with the pressure on but I wore down and choked and flubbed far too many for my liking it counted which increased as the day wet on. I drained a longish putt for a birdie on a par 3 which was a legitimate cause for a brief celebration and the sole clip in the highlight reel.
As mentioned it was fun and I would play with the same grouping again. Each of the team members were pleasant and cheerful and only old Fritz didn't have a beer because he quit drinking 'years' ago. Meeting different people at such a church event runs a low risk of trouble or problems. My cart partner actually had heard of me as an artist which was a first. Each member was engaging and had pretty good senses of humor.
The night before S1 and I took in the Stars season opener v the bruins from Boston ending up short 2-1 in a odd game. B’s scored two (2) quick and soft markers the first 3 minutes and Stars could only muster 1. S1 got the tickets and we were literally up against the ceiling for this one at the AAC. We could reach up and touch the panels so yes, we were ‘up there’.
That’s about enough.
Between the rest of today and early am is gardening projects on and around the back deck, Mass and nutritional fuel. Some kind of workout as I am a day behind
over.
