SUMMATION Day and a holiday IOW a cause to celebrate Justin Case you are needy. If you are counted in among the aimless, clueless, floundering, or chronically depressed and wish to avoid medication(s), some small (sane) sort of celebration may be observed on these days to simply just lift one’s (yours) spirits.

THAT’S A GREAT IDEA.

Of course it is.

Wouldn’t the world be a better place just as an example if HALF (1/2) of the population today celebrated with a ‘random act of kindness’? The release of endorphins would create a tsunami of emotional uplifting.

So open and hold the door for a someone that you would rather slam on them just today. Who knows, perhaps it would catch on and others will follow suit and YOU will be a ‘Trend setter’ and be seen ‘TRENDING’.

YOU could become a social media diva or gender considerations taken into account a de’von.

Wednesday coming up on 0800and the sun looks like it is thinking about coming up. The chill in the air is genuine but only just cool to us acclimators. The near forecast is shocking with RAIN of all things and a cold front with the merc dropping to 4 and that IS ° Celsius.

Yesterday was a good day. I motored up to Sherman (TX) in my search for large pieces of wood with a budget of $100 and going crazy with some spectacular pieces going 3x over budget. THAt said, I COULD make the entire expenditure back returning the investment with one sale. But more on that later.

THERE YOU GO AGAIN … WHEN? YOU NEVER DELIVER …

Honey no one ever does when they say that. Or rarely. I am simply ‘joining ‘ the crowd.

I was able to secure the primary mission and purchased 2 larger and maybe a third smaller piece for Burt the chainsaw carver to have at and rough out. Dan told me that the two (2) larger pieces of tupelo were from Cal’s estate sale so there was a draw to get them. Dan had prices on nearly all the pieces and he ‘cut’ me a deal on the total which segways into the story for today.

So Dan completes the tally and I ax him if he takes plastic. He does but NOT America Express. OK. Fine. I have my Cabela’s visa for just such ‘emergencies’.

Dan goes to swipe and declined. Minor problem the first time however after the fourth attempt I ax for the card and find the number for customer support.

Do you sense and ordeal coming?

I know I do. (Rooney)

‘Thank you for calling Cabela’s credit card customer service supported by Capital One.’

Now I KNEW I was in trouble and in for a rough time.

Sure enough I reached a little squeaking Phlipper, explain the problem and she puts me on hold right away to check the account after I answered ALL of the ‘security’ and identity questions.

‘Mr William we sent you a new card in October 18 and that is not the card number.’

W: ‘Well that’s the one I have, it has an expiration of 04/25 so it should be good.’

Philliper: ‘It’s not.’

W: ‘Let me speak to your supervisor or a manager.’ I have already WASTED TOO MUCH TIME on this.

After another hold, ‘David’ comes on the line and he has had the training. Repeats some ‘facts’ from his end and I agree as long as they are correct and true then things his a wall.’

W: ‘I never received that card. If I did don’t you think I would be using it?’

I had reached the end of my rope.

W:’Look. When you said Capital One I smelled a rat. I was with them once before and their customer support was in the commode to say nothing of their business model AND business practices.’

D:’I am sorry for that …

I cut him off.

W: ‘I am ending this call right now, close my account and I will be cutting up this card immediately after hanging up the phone.’ Which I did.

Recovering, I produced the cash on hand that I had and it was short. Dan told me there was credit union not far so we went there to get the deal closed.

We walk in and it is an ‘affiliated’ credit union and going from memory I fill out the slip.

The teller, a most pleasant young white lady, informed me that number wasn’t coming up. I mentioned the zeroes and after some gymnastics on her end discovered some zeroes out of place and got it to work.

I got the cash out, settled with Dan and got out of town to heading to the tree farm in Chambersville.

Dean was around and we got into a golf cart and drove around the lot looking for chunks of wood that might meet my requirements.

Not so lucky here this time or now but we did continue the negotiations for the machinery and the collection of wood he was trying to get rid of.

Dean is a spot on stand up guy and shoots straight. You know, Old School honor graduate.

That’s all I have time for.

I must get this posted up as a contractor is coming a 0900 for complete the rain water collection and storage project.

At 1100 I will be sitting for a haircut in Richardson so toots.

WAIT !! THERE YOU GO AGAIN LEAVING US HANGING.

Let me send you a rope with your membership refund.

Drip.
