FIRST of MMXX

Yesterday Fans your adventurers were part of history. Read on for full details but it was the usual fine time and approached a BLAST. What a grand way to begin the new year.

Br12 nka Bd12 and Br18 were gifted tickets to the Holiday Classic at the Cotton Bowl, Fair Park in Dallas to witness and spectate an outdoor hockey game.

S1 arrived by the light rail on site very early to the tune of a couple three (3) hours and yours truly waited and that little detail cost putting me smack in the middle of the throng of 85,630 in attendance for the game.

Hoopla and festivities abounded and no one, NO ONE as far as merchants and merchandise were concerned, were going to miss such an opportunity to shoot so many fish in a barrel. And the cash registers had to be near overheating or melting down. I mean what a gold mine for them.

We watched the game and it was a good one.

Stars fall behind early to Nashville 2-0 in the first. Late in the second Dallas made it close with a marker and in the third scored three (3) unanswered and the place was Insania.

But first, both teams had special ‘Winter Classic’ uniforms and of course ‘fans’ paid premiums to look like the players of both squads. There were a surprising number of Predator fans in town and their jersey’s were not as spectacular as the Stars green & white throwback jersey but the pants took some getting used to. In fact, Guillermo Sanchez had a story line in draft mode blaming the loss solely and strictly on the god-awful pants. But they won so we fired Sanchez for not filing a story. With our luck (bad) he should return but MUCH later.

On the way out I mentioned to Br12 that I had never been to a hockey game and not had a good time. And it is in the hundreds. There was ONE (1) time I THOUGHT the string was going to break but no and it turned around.

Always a colorful time with other fans, many happy drunks OR working on it. The 'good time' is nearly always had by all. S1 adds to the experience with his wit, sharp insight and critical sense(s) including humor.

Which brings up to today. There are all sorts of Plans and planning underway and as the Procrastination Express approaches the station, as one J Cash would say ‘I hear that while blowing …’

So I have suddenly lost all interest and motivation to carry on and press forward with THIS effort.

Time to post up this entry and address the first to-do list, agenda and daily itinerary for 2020.
