02 04 20

Just think, 52 years ago TODAY, it was 2-4-68 and cheerleaders EVERYWHERE have been singing it’s praises ever since. Such a MONUMENTAL day WILL BE included on the calendar according to Bill. Filed under ‘cheerleading milestones and significant events’.

Good news and bad news this day Fans AND little time.

So which first?

THE BAD NEWS. GET IT OUT OF THE WAY AND FINISH POSITIVE, STRONG AND UPBEAT POR FAVOR. JUST MAKE SURE YOU FINISH OR AT LEAST GET TO SOME OF THE ‘GOOD NEWS’.

Very well.

Devastating news from the agricultural research department. The ENTIRE crop of 2019/20 pineapples thus far have all failed to root, died and lost and are being composted as we speak.

Don’t be overly alarmed however as I am simply taking it in stride. There are plenty in the pipeline and besides that, I was beginning to have trouble placing and finding suitable homes for so many. Demand for rescue pineapples has dropped to nada.

I just don’t get it. FREE plants requiring little (IOW ZERO (0)) maintenance and with care, patience and water one COULD have another fruit.

YEAH, IN TWO (2) YEARS.

Agreed. Some ... no ... MOST people don’t have that type of attention span and forget patience, risk-reward gratification however us farmer-types do possess AND see the value and true hidden meaning(s) in such things.

One more thing about Chesterton I appreciated just this morning. I learned that he was an Anglican in 1908 when he wrote current read Orthodoxy and did not convert to Catholicism until some 14 years later. I have already made it a point as a follow up read the next book he wrote around this time. I was wondering exactly why (Y … ?) he was talking always ‘Christianity’ and not even mentioning ‘Catholicism’. Then I learned …

Conversion fascinates me as to how people can do it. Being born, reared and raised that way I know little to nothing else and frankly I do not feel I need to. I feel truly I am in the right place and absolutely no need to be ‘born again’. It was done correctly the FIRST time. My OPINION.

Honestly I can say that were I NOT a cradle Catholic, I am not certain I could have or would have migrated to that as a destination.

When I was pondering and reflecting on his writing, meaning and messages, something clicked and dawned on me.

PRAY TELL … WHAT? (SORRY)

It’s OK to mention ‘prayer and praying’ here so don’t think twice or worry about it.

He is preaching or endorsing tempered moderation and avoiding (totally) one thing I have said and that is ‘labels of convenience.’

GREAT MINDS.

Apparently and indeed.

‘He’s a pacifist’ or ‘she’s a liberal’. No one is in that or ANY particular mode all of the time. Usually.

He does use insanity, mad and crazy quite a bit for this perfectly describes ABNORMAL people stuck in those modes or moods for inordinate amounts of the time causing great harm to themselves and often harm to others. Think about that for a minute.

OK. Times up.

ENOUGH ALREADY. ON TO THE GOOD NEWS POR FAVOR.

Fair enough and can do.

Under small battles won … THUMBS DOWN on the solar array installation. Further review and evaluation of numbers, dates, financing etc found that such an adventure was a long running ‘debt albatross.’ ‘AVOID DANGER WILL ROBINSON …DANGER …”

The tiny lost screw from the upstairs thermostat WAS found TOTALLY ELIMINATING all the backup and recovery plans that were put in place.

HOW, WHERE?

Recall I heard the falling screw hit metal. The sound was a tiny ‘ting’ if you’re keeping score at home.

Hands and knee search pattern found and revealed NOTHING in or on the carpeting where the small specialty screw SHOULD HAVE landed and come to rest. After an unsuccessful trip to Home Depot for a replacement AND two (2) other BACKUP Plans, I convinced self to take off the grate on the wall and look inside as HIGHLY IMPROBABLE as it seemed that it could have ended up there.

The drop angle, angle of the fin on the grate and gravity made me think no-effing way.

I mean the thing simply COULD NOT disappear AND had to be someplace. Afterall.

I removed the grate, felt thru the sawdust and regular dust inside and on the second (2nd) go-thru, there it was. (!) SHAZAAM !!

Bill WAS WRONG !!

Got the thermostat back together and the display still did not light up but the furnace also did not come on. Small victory thus noted.

But it is back together and should be working but isn’t so I moved next to the downstairs thermostat. I found a number and called Honeywell to help identify the error message code and sure enough, I flipped the breaker and even then it didn’t correct the problem. So I keep getting half-way there but failing and falling just a hair short.

So next I need to clean the garage and create some room, free space and find some firewood. At least until a heat-ac technician can get here.

AREN’T YOU WORRIED ABOUT FREEZING TO DEATH?

Yes indeed. That’s on my list.

But seriously know. I mean no.

It is like an adventure camping out or being homeless but not quite so bad. Think hot shower(s), clean cloths, things of that nature.

Another bright spot, I located a decision center at Collin College yesterday during a very productive morning. I ran down and CONFIRMED, seniors over a certain age (I QUALIFY) for two (2) courses, TUITION FREE, EACH SEMESTER. This is HUGE.

So I was given the name and contact information for an experienced advisor that helps ‘non-traditional’ students. I was also given information and instructions to take some assessments so a boat-load of other activities have been added to my 'to-do' list.

Taxes … required documents filtering in daily via US Post. Must compile and submit to accountant to process for refund.

And now I have neither the time nor inclination for an update on the roof fiasco. AND it is raining today so more on that next time. Perhaps

OK. Things have deteriorated here now to a dangerously low level and I must cut and run as the list is long and nothing gets done whenever I am doing this nonsense.

I could go on as I had all kinds of ideas when I started this report but they are going to have to wait for another time.

That’s how it goes … in the Fast Lane …

Of the blogosphere.
