Six 12 Friday
Friday night and a week has wrapped up that began in the depths of depression, doom and gloom and by Friday, off the charts with good, better and GREAT news so where to start on the upbeat.
But first, this story from the fake, fraudulent or faux news, for yours truly this would be a no brainer.
Be seeing you Fido … on the other side.
Here is the story of a bona fide idiot.
I would ask the alligator what kind of wine he wanted with that dog myself. People and their pets. I don’t get it, never have probably never will. They are below us on every scale and only create waste messes and carry disease. Look up and research ‘toxoplasmosis’.
Reading a few of the comments confirms that I am and continue in the extreme minority. Man’s best friend indeed. A man’s bf s/b a woman. Case closed.
But back on topic, this morning I introduced myself to Dave of Dave’s Paint & Body. Dave will be doing the major surgery on Silver getting him back on the trail. Dave is certainly a standup guy.
Speaking of standup characters, on this mornings second episode of the Lone Ranger, I was startled and impressed with the historical accuracy of the story.
WHAT?
John Wesley Hardin was a main character and it mentioned he was from Fannin County which is Bonham where I go to get the blueberries & peaches. (double!!)
HOW DO YOU KNOW THIS OH GREAT CESSPOOL OF MARGINAL FACTS?
Well, I just happened to do some research (google) and looked up the noteable (famous) people that called the county seat of Fannin county home. It was incredible. Major league baseball players Danny Darwin, Joe Morgan and Roy McMillan grew up there and Darwin ‘had words’ once with Barry Bonds for dogging it on a fly ball. Today it would be classified as a ‘racial incident.’
Anyway, down the list a little further was JWH ‘well-known outlaw and gunslinger’. So I clicked on his link. The facts in the story matched up nearly perfectly. Hardy was a young outlaw, his father a preacher and he was a steely-eyed hombre. He was gunned down in El Paso and in the story it had some of the details of his demise there. It even mentioned Bonham by name. I don’t mind telling you that I was just a little tickled by all that. A lot of history in that little small town.
Having a simple mind is wonderful at times. A Blessing in fact.
In two separate cases, I am dealing with different attorneys. I can't talk about either one but the second looks like a large class action suit that is right now 'classified' and could be huge. Expecting involvement with Federal agencies and will know more next week.
Meanwhile the sale of 811 grinds on.
The training ride yesterday was quick shaving minutes off of the record time for 40K down to 1:41.
Conditions were favorable with no winds and the traffic well-behaved.
Feeling celebratory, I had lunch for the first time in a long time out at El Pollo Alegre. They were only allowing 10-12 patrons in at a time so I had to wait for a bit but not bad. The ceviche tostada and michalada were grande.
The longer GDR (graduated distance ride) scheduled for tomorrow was rescheduled for Sunday morning. Less traffic AND not pressing my luck riding 64K (40M) on the 13th. Therefore only low-level, non-essential activities observing the day.
No entry tomorrow and hang out the flag Sunday for Flag day.
YOU do own a Flag ?
