EXTRA, EXTRA read all about it … Bill Buys Chinese toaster … READ ALL ABOUT IT. Mental Illness suspected. Conspiracy theorists light up then crash the internet and social media … read all about it.

So the headlines blasted.

SO WHAT'S THE BACK STORY SUPPORTING THAT HEADLINE ?

Well Ms BOLD CAPS, it IS a long story but then again that’s why YOU are here and that’s what this is all about. The SPIN-UP of daily little events with a twist of Harry Lime to add a small ray of sunshine to an otherwise aromatic, bellicose and creepy existence you live.

JUST GET TO THE STORY PROMISED IN THE HEADLINE POR FAVOR.

Oh, you mean like CNN? The crumbs news network?

So yes I purchased a toaster, just a cheapy, online, amazon with my AmEx ‘bonus reward’ points and yes, after a CONSIDERABLE search of reviews, features and benefits, when it arrived it just so happened to be ‘hecho in china’.

Then again I suspected it would be. Those or them made in the US of A had ALL the bells, whistles, safety features, back-up features, a video screen etc.

I DID NOT WANT a clunque Cadillac toaster with a list of such things overly designed with attributes that would ‘break’ prematurely leading to replacement and/or obsolescence.

IOW, I got EXACTLY what I wanted. A toaster plain and simple.

WHY?

Are you playing therapist?

No. I wanted to try my growing assortment of jams and conserves on English muffins and crashed into a brick wall when I realized that I had no way, appliance or otherwise to TOAST them to run this little domestic experiment.

YOU DIDN’T OWN A TOASTER? WHEN DID YOU GET TO PLANET EARTH AND HOW HAVE YOU SURVIVED TO YOUR ADVANCED AGE WITHOUT ONE?

Watch it sister. I can stop this report RIGHT NOW and leave you hanging.

You want to play hangman?

NO.

Very well then. Please allow me to continue.

So the device arrived after I actually bought a package of Thomas’s ‘whole grain’ muffins and started doing some additional research online.

Well it turns out that ONE CAN make such muffins at home with a fair amount of ease. Apparently.

At any rate, my excitement, energy and enthusiasm are waning and the sun is about to jump over the horizon and the day begin.

WAIT. YOU JUST CAN’T STOP LIKE THAT MID-STREAM.

Listen snowflake, I can and I will but since there is APPARENTLY ‘some demand’. YOU get a few more minutes.

The jam on the muffins was good. I also started keeping track of heating cycles the said toaster will process during its life-time.

YOU ARE CRAZY.

Bye.

NO. I’M SORRY.

Apology accepted.

I finally completed a GDR yesterday. I am quite proud to report I did 105k without stopping and without any ptsd (post traumatic stress). AND the times were good. I should say great.

I started before 7:00 (6:48) and just kept going as the sun came out and things warmed up.

I checked the time at 100k which MAY BE the next HH100 if there is a 'next' OR until I age up and at that milestone I was at 4:13. The extra 5k or 105K which is what the program GDR calls for was 4:27 which I was pleased with.

I was estimating between 4-5 hours at my nominal optimistic pace however the previous two attempts fatigue and hydration became issues and even with the mechanical issue one time and the weather another I CONSIDERED both AND overcame both obviously.

Conditions were favorable with light wind and cooperative traffic so safety slows and stops were minimal. Idiot sitings increased as the morning moved along.

Don’t get me wrong it WAS brutal and I didn’t do much the rest of the day but my weight was 173.3 which is lowest for the season and I really didn’t HAVE TO anything anyway.

I did get considerable reading done. Should you need a good read, Ulysess Grant was of has become a grossly overlooked President and character in American history. I am amazed each session how little things have changed since the later half of the 19th century.

After taking a dip I did a little painting on H.3 and Watching the Shore.5. Also accomplished some planning but did cancel a trip out to watch the Bulldog’s playoff game. I learned later from S1 they won 4-2 and he had 1g, 1a so that was good and I missed a good game.

I enjoyed a leisurely dinner of leftover chicken salad tacos and a small tossed salad with items from the garden. Swiss chard, a house sprout mixture, a carrot (!), and TOMATOES. The tomatoes were perfectly ripe, tasty and even sweet. So good. And there are more of them coming on.

I had a problem with the TuneIn app so it was fairly quiet around the casa.

I eventually found a ‘contact us’ link and to my surprise got a prompt follow-up. They don’t do phone support so it was all email back and forth.

Abbreviated, an email this morning said ‘try it now’. They had some ‘issues’ which were now fixed. I checked and it is back to ‘normal’. I have to remark my favorites but that isn’t extensive so ALL GOOD.

So after the ‘rush hour’ subsides, the program calls for an easy (short) 40k ride this day. It will be interesting to see how Bill the athlete responds and what kind of time turns in. Not that that is the driving force or obsession. Once MUST be ready to stop and NOT take unnecessary chances for one MUST always plan on riding another day.

FB and her crew took a small short vacation to MS and the short Gulf coast there. His Family has a beach house on an island so it was socially isolated (as in ‘distancing’) and she sent some very nice and cool pictures of the gulls, waves and water.

I’ll post one of GS1, nextgen.dos for todays image.

There.

That’s him chasing a seagull. Maybe he thinks it’s dinner ??

Looks like a real little shipwrecked sailor and quite at home and comfy on the beach.

Thanks for checking in.

Remain hydrated, stay calm and cool, don't panic and save your money.
