A significant rain event rolled thru last night and the cool, still darkness of the clouds sans sun still lingers. It is no problemo shifting day plan FROM hitting balls or a bike ride TO projet artistiques.

I mean I could make a trip out iffen Robert calls from McKinney Pipe & Steel and has my small sheets of 16 gage cold-rolled steel cut. The sheets will be for projects that showcase tropical fish in the near future.

Speaking of art, with this mornings electronic post I received a contract from Studio C the gallery in Corpus Christi contacted at the Galveston show to exhibit some of my art work. Not quite as giddy as expected as the fish are what the are wanting this time and these are classified as ‘smalls.’ I was hoping for larger-ticket items such as Watching the Shore.series.

Not to worry as it is a start and the time frame creates a bit of a conflict should the WWAF become a reality. I would want as many of the larger pieces close and available should I get juried into the major show come April.

Either way it will work itself out.

This link will cement future and further travels to Mexico very likely long term as in forever.

I have made four (4) trips to Tulum and would go TODAY up until reading this article. Trip one (I) was solo and Tulum was a quiet little fishing village barely larger than a widening in the two-lane road. I got a great meal on the run for a few pesos stopping between the ruins at Tulum and Coba in ’97.

Trip II In ’01 was with Son One (S1) and after exploring the ruins we climbed down the rocky cliff directly in front of el Castillo to swim in the turquoise waters below.

AREN’T THERE PELIGRO SIGNS ALL OVER THERE WARNING NOT TO GO THERE?

There are indeed many such signs and not on the list of brightest things done by boys for a thrill. Especially after getting down to the beach below and looking back up. Huge blocks, large rocks & boulders precariously perched and now it is proof someone, OK … God, was watching out for us.

Third trip (III) was with the FORMER fiancé therapist I nearly married and THANK YOU God again on THAT one. We did collective homework and research at the time and reasoned it was safe and at that time it was. This is ’08 or ’09 and this trip was more about eating and spending money as I was the corporate warrior with crazy discretionary income AND someone to spend it aka her.

The last & final trip (IV) was leading an adventure tour in ’16 with the auditor and opiate abuser. It was a good trip and we were on the move nearly the entire time with only the one first night in Tulum. There was a lot of driving this trip as in across the Yucatan peninsula to Merida and Rio Lagartos biosphere to observe the flocks of flamingoes. Again we weren’t overly concerned for the same reasons that the cartels would be ill-advised to turn off the revenue stream causing harm to tourists especially Americans and now this too has apparently changed over time.

No matter. There are other places to go that are safe & cool and if not, Paradise has been found here.

Speaking of the 2016 trip, an hour ago I received an email to submit a claim against the Hertz/Dollar rental car place in a class action suit. I know and recall VIVIDLY I was yanked around on the quote and over paid grossly but at the time there was not much that could be done and as a working stiff I just paid it up.

Glad to see they have been slapped and again, not surprised.

I guess that’s about it from here for now. I was stuck in Procrastination station until the electronic mail alerts and notifications started going off and now the sun has ccme out so I need to revisit a plan and salvage some of the day.

Long lengthy reads are not in my formula for writing success as I continue polishing the skill set tool chest..

Quick, funny and from time to time informative keeps people coming back to more AND THEN paying.

Emma, thanks for the feedback and kind words of support. ‘Keep Lubbock flat.’

Look, there’s a frog …
