3 D

First entry of the new month D. Actually, SECOND attempt.

A little late here however as usual the slight delay allows for a buildup of material such that only the better or best makes it to the post. So arithmetically designated gaps = opportunity(ies) 4 better, more and new material.

After 3 or 4 days of amazing, awesome or just unseasonable weather that has allowed bike rides outdoors v the mentally grueling indoor variety shorter stationary turns. There have been spa sessions in the afternoon when the solar angle has been most favorable for over-dosing on vitamin D. In other words or those of the Farmers making hay when the sun shines or why not ‘HEY’. (?)

I did manage to go shopping for the few necessary staples. I had a couple of coups from K. Roget for onions more than I needed or could immediately use so I but bought the surplus, chopped them as in diced (roughly) and quick froze them in a single layer on the all-purpose cookie sheet.

I made it to Winco before the school buses rolled and was home, done and snug for the weekend.

WAIT. WASN’T THERE AN ART SHOW ON SATURDAY?

There is but I cancelled my participation. Not feeling it plus my mind is looking ahead to the gallery exhibit in February.

Very good Ms. Bold Caps as I wasn’t going to mention not doing the show. You ARE keeping score at home.

I finished the rambutan samples sent from FB. I am sure she discovered them at Costco as she is a costcoholic. Much like her mother the ‘x’.

‘I saved $117 today by shopping at Costco’ she (x) would proudly proclaim.

Cme to find out she bought a PALLET of paper towels and spent over $250.

This sort of economic logic and reasoning is one (ONLY 1) small reason for Splitsvile. Come to think of it, the former or ex-fiance also had this similar condition of economic or spending problem. Each never saw the problem with spending MORE than what was being brought in versus Actual Need(s).

I know ... a 'complex' algorithm right?

Anyway, the heating tech came over for the periodic scheduled system check up. All good and covered. He rolled up while I was working in Studio G (the garage) and took an interest in the projects underway. After he completed his tasking we shot the breeze for a bit as I was his last customer of the day.

He was just back from south Texas where he hunted nilgai. He pronounced it ‘nail-guy’.

I had not heard of this animal but he had pictures and then later I looked it up. So should you.

The nilgai were introduced into Texas from India around 1920 and are doing well. Not as well as the feral hogs but Rocket said the meat is outstanding and the beasts yield a lot of very lean, tasty, high-quality meat.

Now here’s the funny thing.

In India where they are indigenous AND plentiful, man is NOT a predator and they are NOT eaten so are in an over-populated (unmanaged) condition and people are starving on religious grounds. Makes sense to me. Like a dolphin playing a piccolo.

I have grown fond and am a fan of the BBC reports on local weather to McK. I know it sounds weird but the format they present the forecast is simple, easy to read quickly and there is not an over-presentation of otherwise useless information. I repeat, USELESS information.

I type in the word search ‘mckinneyweather bbc’ and it is first inline.

The weather channel, accuweather(s) are ALL GARBAGE. I am not a fan of the colored maps and glitzy ‘presentations’. Just the temperature and chances of rain. PERIOD.

PLUS they give the hourly breakdowns so spotting trends and tracking is much easier. The American 'services' present temperatures in four (4) hour periods.

SPLITTING HAIRS ARE WE?

It's a personal preference is all so shut up.

I have also been working projet artistiques in advance. In fact, today’s image is the most recent completion.

Vanderloos angelfish (Chaetodontoplus vanderloosi) is a very rare and endangered fish found in the western Pacific and numbers estimated under 1500. Data is limited and to date only two (2) specimens have been photographed.

This one is relief-carved from a single piece of Pacific redwood framed with repurposed weathered fence picket. I have a couple half-bodies in process and I am excited about those but MOST excited about a new species the Eritean butterflyfish. With some luck I COULD BE painting this one this weekend since I am skipping out on the Holiday bazaar.

Lucky me.
