Ate One Twenty-one

The First day of the rest of the summer and it is a NEW day and a NEW month. June has finally ended after 61 stellar days and if things could ever be said to be back to ‘normal’, calendorically speaking we ARE back to at least conventional nomenclature which most are familiar with.

It is shortly after 5:00 am OR zero-dark-thirty.

UP MIGHTY EARLY FOR A SUNDAY AREN’T WE?

Your part of ‘WE’ most likely is.

I haven’t heard from you in a while Ms Bold Caps. I was beginning to Hope that this part of ‘WE’ could start looking for a replacement.

DON’T BE MEAN … POR FAVOR

BUT WHY ARE YOU UP SO EARLY AND ISSUING A REPORT?

Well, the weekly is long training ride has moved to Sunday morning due to safey and traffic considerations. The GDR105 again and already and the sooner I get started, the earlier I can get after the fun stuff. Like laundry, watering plants and of course projets artistique.

I can’t start until it gets light and I have some ride prep items to get after in the meantime so as not to waste day light time.

Last night I made apricot conserve and I am THINKING it was once again worth the effort and work. I actually lost a jar when the bottom of the half-pint cleaved entering the water bath. This is the first time a jar had broken in process and only the second time a unit failed. The first was a bad seal. The remaining eight (8) jars I am delighted to say DID seal 100% so good news there.

That said, there is the corresponding mess to clean up later as a direct result following such an adventure.

Emma checked in with a delightful note and update.

I must admit being humbled as her list of ‘to-do’ things as in activities puts mine to shame. She is doing more in a day BEFORE LUNCH than I get done in a week. More or mostly less.

Amazing and reported with the highest respect.

Today in ny the travelers will be attending an ice cream social at the fire house. Little Mikey ‘Fireman’ Millican will be in his element with the entire ambience as they are two of his favorite things.

They couldn’t tell him in advance because his little brain and sound-producing module would be inquiring incessantly ‘when are we going …?’

This is another nonsense article from yahoo ‘news’.

The liberal socialist libtards have announced that they are now on a mission to clean up all things offensive, have reared their very ugly heads and made known the new ‘target’.

That’s right. They are going after birds and even insects that have ‘offensive’ names. I admit NOT reading such trash beyond the headline but I can only speculate that the ‘black widow spider’ will no longer be known as that.

I am again only THINKING that this arachnid will be perhaps ‘dark single-spouse spider’ ??

Anyway, they did not ax me and besides, I am thinking again such things are FAR BEYOND my pay grade.

Why can’t these morons decide, find and then ‘attack’ another more worthy cause like wiping out herpes, STDs or toxoplasmosis? I mean really SOMETHING important.

My poor student Richard sent pictures of his first project.

As a instructor or teacher I simply cannot say he screwed it up royally to him anyway because it is his first attempt and at this point it is all about the ‘learning process.’

I on the other hand was smart enough to ‘temper’ his expectations so we should be ok. My role is to guide him, get him started and make him more comfortable on the next one learning from mistakes.

In fairness to Richard, his work shop & working area are upside down at the moment and he was most anxious to get started and well, he is learning a lot and quickly.

Yesterday the Red Sox fell out of first place in the AL East dropping one to the Tampa Rays. All or a sudden they have gone cold and difficult to listen to even on the radio.

I also tuned in to the Astros earlier in the day and they had a slugfest with the Giants. I truly wish they hadn’t left ny and moved to SF.

Mike Yaz FINALLY got a hit late in the game and blasted a HR. So good to hear the call. His GRANDFATHER Carl, HOF and all-time great for the Red Sox was one of my heroes as I reminisce.

Needing to cut it off here Fans.

Oops. One more thing.

This is 1st August and at Mass yesterday I learned that this is the 18th Sunday in Ordinary time. (!)

To my simple little mind it is AMAZING the longer I go on the more the same certain numbers keep popping up. Eighth (8th) month, first day, 18 etc.

YOU FOOL. THERE ARE ONLY A CERTAIN FINITE NUMBER OF SUCH THINGS SO OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO KEEP ‘POPPING UP’.

Listen, can you really and truly go away this time and STAY AWAY for a while? Like an EXTENDED VACATION or how about a stay-awaycation?

I need more coffee …
