Carry on my wayward son ... (continued ...)

Tuesday 6 O 2020

After some difficulty navigating the disgraceful highway and toll road system of Houston, getting NOT LOST but ‘misdirected’, I found my way to Hockley, Texas and the Oaks of Houston.

The guard at the gate where I stopped asked for my name and I was let in to the grounds of the exclusive and magnifique club.

Not shocked by any of this but mildly surprised by the fact of a guard and gate and I started to get a forbodden feeling. I found a nice parking spot in the shade and spotted the KU large Mercedes ‘van’ and knew I was in the right place.

Once inside the clubhouse, a staff member asked if I need help and did I.

‘A rest room?’ I inquired.

‘There’s one further down this hall on the right but the Men’s locker room is closer.’ She must have detected SOMETHING from my body language.

She lead the way and I followed.

One inside the MLR my jaw dropped. Polished dark wooden lockers, very spacious and decorating the walls flags from the pins at just about every famous high-dollar course one could think of. Just stunning.

From here to the pro shop where I was informed that no spectators were being allowed on the course.

I told the assistance professional I understood and browsed a bit and finding nothing of interest as far as shirts go was able to get a scorecard, pencil and purchased a coozy and a logoed ball as ‘momentos’ of the adventure.

I went towards downtown Hockley to the Lone Star Pinball museum which was closed and a bust. No signs of any kind and the place more resembled an organized junkyard but slightly.

From here I went to downtown Houston annd found Sawyer Street and Sawyer Yard, a HUGE artist complex and community for a look see. Traffic was awful and I got down there obviously late but it was so large and vast that another visit with more time would be required for sure.

I got home Monday afternoon about midway and unpacked and settled back into Home Sweet Home.

Which now makes me current and up to date.

I have much to do as I received electronic notification that I was now an ‘official vendor’ at the Tupps Holiday Bazaar in December so now the big push is on for sellable product and merchandise aka 'inventory'.

While in Houston FB and I spent considerable time putting together social media marketing campaigns first expanding the Instagram pages.

That’s all I have the energy for.

Time is out and up.

Must work out, spend time in the studio AND commence planning.
