II Augusto MMXXI

Wild ride yesterday and todays scheduled moved to Tuesday so no big deal(s) so as Jackie Gleason used to say … ‘AND AWAY WE GO… !!

This article offers a great solution. I couldn’t believe it and again, only read a few words beyond the headline. What a joke these people are clambering and craving attention is such reprehensible ways. But you go girls …

If you don't like it here, by all means that you have LEAVE. Pursuit Happiness elsewhere. POR FAVOR.

Let’s get back to the ride.

It was a personal best again for GDR105K which was a surprise. One of the time measuring instruments reset however the backup was on and in place so recorded accurately.

WHAT? YOU HAVE REDUNDANT TIMING SYSTEMS ON YOUR BIKE??

You have an uncanny knack Ms Bold Caps to ‘glam up’ and make things sound much more sophisticated and fancy than they are in reality.

I do have a simple backup and I will deep dive iffen you are willing.

I AM INTRIGUED OGO. GO ON POR FAVOR …

My wrist watch (sport) has multiple features and it is great but it takes the other (second) hand (sorry) to change and/or check functions. Are you with me?

YES.

Good. I’m so glad AND glad all over. (songs … Cream/Blind Faith & DC5 … respectively)

In traffic that could be dicey and dodgy and one day a few weeks back I discovered nearly by accident that the ‘bike computer’ also has a ‘chrono’ function.

After a few baseline trials, I have started using it by setting it to all zeroes at the start and forgetting about it until the last few km for timing. SOMETIMES it even resets and starts itself.

SO YOU HAVE A SMART BIKE AS WELL ?

Well done Ms BC!! I’m really liking the gnu you. [insert red heart]

This is one reason the ‘personal bests’ are piling up. Also, getting into a good strong riding condition physically and mentally with a solid frame of mind is starting to include a good ride strategy. All very important.

I looked at the training calendar with the new month and there are only 14 more training rides until the HHH.

After the ride, I lost a couple of hours down time due to fluid loss.

I took 2 or 3 or 4 naps, cold watermelon tasted exceptional and the lemonade chilled my innards ALL THE WAY DOWN.

I was hydrating well during the ride taking both water and the vitamin/electrolyte solution and had one (1) each of a shot block (CLIF) and a tootsie pop (grape).

I got on the scale shortly after peeling off the spandex riding gear and 170.2 which is SO CLOSE to my target and goal. I mean doesn’t it make sense to you that with less weight aka body mass to pedal around one would be quicker and faster ?

YES.

I am enjoying your new attentive attitude. Maybe I’ll keep you around for a while.

REALLY!! I HAVE BEEN LOSING SLEEP OVER IT.

Late afternoon when the ball games are starting in the different time zones and I felt clear headed and ambitious enough to get after the domestic drudgery.

BY FAR the most procrastinateable area was the kitchen and the Apricot Project debris field.

In much more pleasant and happy news from the world of sports, specifically golf, this link.

Today’s image is a signed golf ball by Olympic gold medalist Xander Schauffele personally given to your correspondent. Over the weekend the ‘value’ of this item SHOT up. I got FB on it for exact market value for she is very good with such things.

From runner-up R Sabbatini I have been with four (4) at Colonial and can confirm reports that his conduct and behavior are true. Not a very good role model is all I will say. I have three (3) signed balls and a signed glove from him and I would take OBO right now.

At the Colonial, Zandy approached me pleasantly on the tenth tee box before starting the round.

‘Hi. I’m Zander.’ And held out his hand politely in introduction.

‘I’m Bill.’ I returned my hand after removing sun glasses and volunteer cap as it is a faux pas and a breech of etiquette of the highest order at an introduction to not do so. I quickly added ‘How do you pronounce your last name?’

‘Schauffele’ (Shăf-lee).

‘Good luck and play well today Mr Schauffele.’

‘Thank you.’

A very nice young man and now another famous friend. Add Olympic GOLD medalist to the list of friends encountered in Life.

Good for him. I can share his happiness to a certain extent.

Perhaps now I could or should crack open a special nice beer to achieve significant motivation.

Maybe THAT will work … (?)
