Three eleven 22

Greetings from atop the cold Hill and rest assured winter is waning and Spring is approaching.

Have Faith and take confidence in that.First order is a quick shout to Emma, formerly of Oz as in Aus but now and once again calling the American outback aka high plains known as Lubbock home.

SO WHAT ARE WE SHOUTING?

Happy birthday of course.

This is an accomplishment for your obedient writer as Emma has not missed my glorious day one time and even recalls Family and this is the FIRST time I have gotten her something on time.

YOU ARE SO SMOOTH.

I know. My golfing buddies from another life would say there were not enough ‘oooths in smooth.’

Anyway, Happy birthday Emma.

Here are a couple of things from the artistic front. The Martin Place gallery is for one (1) month and I stopped by and the set up is nice. Mostly flat art IOW paintings many ordinaire and resembling what I categorize as the paint-by-numbers look. I COULD say ‘too perfect’ but that is misleading as well.

The artist’s reception is next weekend and still uncertain iffen I will partake in the socialization portion. Just not feeling it and interacting with the ‘local community’ possibles show ups to throw up is about as appealing as a colonoscopy.

Just not keen on running or bumping into certain people. Now running OVER or bumping OFF is another story. For a later time.

From what I have seen the website doesn’t show much of the work on display o it didn’t last week. It may have changed.

Studio C in Corpus on the other hand however IS doing a higher level of promotion on both the website and social

media.

The banner features three (3) of my projects which is cool but they are of the same type which at first disappointed me but then they have a ‘wall’ of thumbnails of everything which are all the latest and most recent efforts.

And the marketing efforts continue. This coming week the Atrium 22 jury will notify artists for participation by Friday the 18th. I think I have two (2) strong candidate pieces submitted and feel on the higher side of confidence there.

I prepared the entry package for Market Street in Houston. That could go out this week. This is a low risk as I have been juried in before and they ‘know’ me and my work is high quality OR a caliber suitable for the event.

Same with ARToberFEST in Galveston but since that is in October and further out I am THINKING of adding to the market or region-specific pieces to complete before that event.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

Fair enough and I have time.

Galveston signs for one thing. As in more of them and a larger selection. I have started my first production lot of red snappers of different and varying sizes to complete and incorporate into signs, half-bodies (frames), reliefs and 3-D sculpts.

The red snapper is a colorful and popular game fish alongthe Gulf coast.

Getting close to completing the current read. Yet again sad to see it end but more on that next time.

Bing-PING-bong.

That’s the alarm.

Must dash and make sawdust smaller and finer to facilitate breathing it all in.

Some sort of breakfast, feed the fireplace to burn off the rest of this years wood, develop a Plan for the evening meal and maybe some backyard gardening in case it warms up and the sun shines. The weather jerks say this coming ‘event’ will be the last of the season. So THERE.

IDK really where it will take me … so much to do but YOU KNoW that.
