XXII M XXII

Another day in Paradise. I always check the weather first, visit the days list ‘to-do’s’ and then attack the highest priorities. Knock them out, pick them off like snipers one shot at a time. Readjust as needed during the day.

Interesting date 22 March 22 for us into numbers and patterns but NOT numerology.

A cloudburst of April showers dumped last night as a loud show of the forces of nature. Lots of thunder, bright lightning as dark approached and some of the strikes were nearby. As I pulled Silver into the barn before dark and the rain started I THOUGHT I heard in the intermediate distance the tornado sirens. Check that. I am sure I heard them but how far off I couldn’t tell. They may have been triggered by a pulse or a lightning strike. The overall weather pattern was not what I could categorize even close to severe.

Emma sent a warning message last night of a weather alert and event in THIS area. I have grown fond of the BBC online weather as they have an hourly temperature and forecast thruout the day, wind speed and also for each hour the probability of precipitation AND the are most frequently spot on. There forecast was nothing really to be alarmed about and sure enough, not so much above or beyond a heavy rain.

I went over and visited my friend Carol. Carol is a McKinney artist and we have been talking about embroidery sewing machines for a few years now. We bumped into one another at the Artist reception and awards ceremony Saturday night. She is certified ‘character’ material.

She made a killer coffee cake that was the perfect degree of sweet. She gave me a couple pieces to take home and I had one at a stop light and the second shortly after getting home.

Her house is equal parts work shop, museum and gallery. She works a lot with fabric but also paints. She had this one painting she did years ago that she said she was going to paint over. It was a beach scene she painted in Galveston. We almost started chucking knuckles. Almost.

I told her NOT to do that (kind of strongly) and that I would take it the next time I did a show in Galveston and try to sell it. Now that I think if it tho I may NOT be able to. Some shows only allow you to display, sell and show your own handiwork.

Have I mentioned that my altitude in the world of art is climbing?

MORE THAT ONCE.

Sorry. But it is.

SO WHAT’S NEXT ON THE RADAR?

Well, a recon and intel gathering trip is coming up soon traveling to Houston to check out the Bayou City Art festival for possible future considerations. It was a ‘recommend’ by the artist assigned to me as a mentor by the WWAF staff two years ago. Susanne S said that Bayou City was a ‘good one’.

She also made the suggestion to check out Galveston so I am inclined to trust her judgment. She is a very successful artist and a very nice person AND Houston is a very good art market to be in and around.

While there I will drop off the app & entry fee for the Market Street Spring fine art show. Deadline is 31 M. Early bird entry and registration is due also 31 M for ARToberFEST in October in Galveston.

Then on 6A drop off Watching the Shore.5 at the city of Frisco for Atrium 22 UNLESS it sells in the final week at the Martin Place and then finally things will slow down.

I think next year I should be better equipped to hit the road and do maybe 2-3 planned shows further out. I saw one in Central NY in July I think in Syracuse. Very close to ancient stomping and hunting grounds.

Keeping a push on for the inventory build and new products just in case and in the event I get the call from WWAF late in the game. Even today work continues. Just about completed a stunning unicorn clock for FBNextGen.

*** NEWSFLASH *** JUST IN …

Todays image. When your grandpa is an award-winning artist, this is the kind of birthday gift you get OR you are FILTHY RICH as in WEALTHY.

This one turned out well and I am satisfied with the final product.

The gold and silver glitter highlights I know will be a big hit and can be seen if you blow up or ENLARGE the image.

A fair amount of artistic license used on this one because images or pictures of real unicorns are hard to find.

In other news and developments, I really need to start massaging the 2021 tax data.

Procrastination station at the moment enjoying completing a big project that I have been working on for some time.

Yeah, I think taxes will be next.

AT LEAST looking at the statements and start going thru the expenses to sort out which are deductions and then not.

I could flip a coin … Heads for taxes and tails I do the tax shuffle.

Taxes .. you lose and you lose.
